Lets Talk Peels

At Cheshire Medical Aesthetics, we use professional AlumierMD chemical peels because they allow me to create a treatment that is tailored to your individual skin rather than taking a one-peel-fits-all approach.

Whether your main concern is pigmentation, blemishes, congestion, sensitivity, uneven texture, dullness or the visible signs of ageing, the AlumierMD professional peel portfolio gives me different treatment options that can be selected according to what your skin actually needs.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skin-resurfacing treatment that uses carefully formulated exfoliating ingredients to encourage the removal of accumulated dead skin cells from the surface of the skin.

Despite the word "peel", the aim isn't necessarily to make sheets of skin peel away.

Modern professional peels can be much more controlled and progressive. Depending on the formulation and your skin, you may experience little or no visible peeling at all.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Our skin is constantly renewing itself.

New cells are produced within the deeper layers of the epidermis and gradually move towards the surface. Eventually, the older cells are naturally shed.

However, this process can become less efficient due to factors including age, sun exposure, environmental damage, oil production and changes in the skin.

Dead cells can begin to accumulate on the surface.

This can contribute to:

  • dullness

  • rough or uneven texture

  • clogged pores

  • congestion

  • uneven pigmentation

  • a lack of radiance

  • more visible fine lines

Chemical peels help to accelerate the exfoliation process.

Ready to Start Your Skin Journey?

If you aren't sure which AlumierMD peel you need, you don't need to decide before your appointment.

That's my job.

We begin by looking at your skin, discussing what you would like to improve and deciding whether a professional chemical peel is appropriate.

From there, I can select the treatment that best suits your skin now and create a plan for where we want your skin to go next.

Your skin is individual — your chemical peel should be too.

Important: Chemical peels are professional treatments and are not suitable for every person or every skin condition. A consultation and suitability assessment should be completed before treatment. Temporary redness, sensitivity, dryness, flaking or peeling can occur. Results vary between individuals, and appropriate homecare and daily sun protection are important parts of maintaining results.
