What is Scar Revision?
Scar revision with needling is a skin rejuvenation technique designed to improve the appearance, texture, and tone of scars through controlled micro-injury.

What is Scar Needling?

Scar needling involves using fine needles to puncture the skin and stimulate the body's natural healing response.

There are two main types

-
Micro-needling: Uses shorter needles (0.5–1.5mm) for superficial scars and skin rejuvenation.

-
Surgical Needling: Uses longer needles (2.5–3mm) for deeper penetration, ideal for more prominent or surgical scars.

How It Works?

-
Controlled Injury: The needles create micro-tears in the skin, triggering a wound-healing response.

-
Collagen Induction: This response stimulates fibroblasts and growth factors to produce collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), improving skin structure.

-
Tissue Rejuvenation: Old scar tissue is broken down and replaced with healthier skin cells.

-
Pigmentation Correction: In some cases, medical micropigmentation is added to match skin tone and camouflage scars.

Considerations

-
Wait Period: For post-surgical scars, it's recommended to wait 6–12 months before starting treatment.

-
Not for Keloids: Raised or keloid scars may not respond well and should be avoided.

-
Skin Camouflage Option: For discoloration, micropigmentation can be used to match skin tone
